The creation of the concept of Carte Blanche was a collaboration between WAVE|Pauline Raineri, Junebug Company, and actor Arnaud Mathey, who assisted in the direction of the piece. Thanks to acting and improvisation exercises, and many hours of rehearsal and research, the concept of Carte Blanche was brought to life and polished: a unique and personal piece, custom-made in collaboration with the audience, which explores the role improvisation plays in the creation of contemporary dance.
Based on the audience's input and suggestions, the dancers create a series of choreographic tableaux: the audience gets to choose the music, the theme, and other elements such as the dancers' trajectories, which are put together in the instant by the dancers in order to create a different tableau each time.
Carte Blanche was created for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2016.
Le concept de Carte Blanche a été créé en collaboration avec WAVE|Pauline Raineri l'acteur Arnaud Mathey, qui a assisté dans la direction de la pièce. Grâce à des exercices de théâtre et d'improvisation, ainsi que plusieurs heures de recherche et de répétition, le concept de Carte Blanche a été lancé et affiné: une pièce personelle et unique, faite sur mesure en collaboration avec le public, pour explorer le rôle de l'improvisation dans la création de danse contemporaine.
Basé sur les suggestions du public, les danseurs crééent une série de tableaux chorégraphiques: les spectateurs choisissent la musique, le thèmes, ainsi que d'autres éléments comme le parcours des danseurs. Tous ces éléments sont rassemblés à l'instant même par les danseurs pour créer un nouveau tableau à chaque fois.
Carte Blanche a été créée pour le Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2016.
