Junebug Company, founded in 2015 in Geneva, is codirected by Sophie Ammann, Rosanne Briens and Erin O’Reilly. After gaining solid technical training in their respective countries (Switzerland, France and the USA), their paths crossed at the Ballet Junior de Genève in Switzerland. Junebug Company functions as a collective, enabling the three choreographers to produce their own work individually, or in collaboration with each other, as well as other artists. They look to exploit their differences and the harmony that unites them: honoring their individuality, and putting forward their common vision for dance - a living, breathing, human experience, accessible to all.
Junebug Company’s work has been presented in several festivals in Switzerland as well as abroad. The piece Harmony in Blues was featured at the Fête de la Musique in Geneva, the Plateforme InciDanse in Fribourg, as well as the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in the UK, receiving enthusiastic reviews from audiences as well as the press. Two Blue, Junebug Company’s second creation, was presented at the Cottier Dance Project in Glasgow, the Echo Echo Festival of Dance in Northern Ireland, the Soirée Cooloo-Cooloo in Geneva, the Festival Ulicnih Sviraca in Novi Sad, Serbia, and the Fête de la Danse 2017. Two Blue was also presented at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2016, when Junebug Company went on tour with WAVE Co. to present the triple bill Trip The Light. For this triple bill, together with WAVE Co. and actor Arnaud Mathey, they also devised a new concept of improvised dance called Carte Blanche: a unique and personal piece, custom-made in collaboration with the audience, which explores the role improvisation plays in the creation of contemporary dance. In the beginning of 2016, Junebug Company was commissioned by Electron Festival to create a piece for its opening evening “Horizons Électroniques II”. In February 2017, Junebug Company presented its first full-length piece, WICCA, which premiered at the Théâtre de la Parfumerie in Geneva, and will next go on tour to Derry (UK) for the Echo Echo Festival of Dance & Movement 2017.
Fondé en 2015 à Genève, Junebug Company est codirigé par Sophie Ammann, Rosanne Briens et Erin O’Reilly. Toutes trois de nationalités différentes (respectivement suisse, française et américaine), elles se sont rencontrées au Ballet Junior de Genève. Junebug Company fonctionne en tant que collectif, permettant aux trois chorégraphes de produire leur propre travail de façon individuelle ou en collaboration, ainsi qu'avec d'autres artistes. Elles cherchent à mettre en avant leur vision commune de la danse : la danse comme expérience humaine, vivante, et accessible à tous.
Le travail de Junebug Company a été présenté dans plusieurs festivals en Suisse ainsi qu’à l’étranger. Leur première création Harmony in Blues a été présentée à la Fête de la Danse ainsi qu’à la Fête de la Musique à Genève, en passant par la Plateforme InciDanse à Fribourg, et le Edinburgh Festival Fringe (UK). De plus, leur deuxième création Two Blue a figuré à l’affiche du Cottier Dance Project (UK), du Echo Echo Festival of Dance (UK), et du Festival Ulicnih Sviraca (RS). Le duo a aussi été présenté à la Fête de la Danse 2017, ainsi qu’au Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2016 pour une tournée de neuf spectacles dans le cadre du triptyque "Trip The Light". Lors de cette même tournée, Junebug Company a collaboré avec WAVE Cie pour créer la pièce Carte Blanche : une pièce faite sur mesure, en collaboration avec le public, pour explorer le rôle de l'improvisation dans la création de danse contemporaine. En début 2016, Junebug Company a également été invité à créer une pièce pour la soirée d'ouverture du Festival Electron, "Horizons Electroniques II". En février 2017, Junebug Company a signé sa première forme longue avec la pièce WICCA, qui a été présentée au Théâtre de la Parfumerie à Genève, et qui partira prochainement en tournée à Derry (UK) au Echo Echo Festival of Dance & Movement 2017.
