The trio Harmony in Blues is the result of a choreographic collaboration between Rosanne Briens, Erin O’Reilly and Sophie Ammann.

It is about three women who, in their individuality, discover a deep common ground where dance is an expression of the complex beauty of the human experience; tender moments interweave with outbursts of emotion in this bohemian journey across the dancers’ imaginations.

The music (Forever Is Just a Day by Hurray for the Riff Raff) was decisive in setting the tone of the piece. An atmosphere of tranquillity and tenderness, spirituality almost, is established right at the beginning, thanks to the a cappella voice that rises and navigates the acoustic horizon. The sound of a train occurring at different points in the piece is also significant. The sound of a steam train evokes romantic images, somewhat melancholic, from time gone by, past experiences.

 

It is about inviting the audience to empathise with us, not only as dancers, but also as human beings.

Le trio Harmony in Blues est le résultat d'une collaboration chorégraphique entre Rosanne Briens, Erin O'Reilly et Sophie Ammann.

Cette pièce parle de trois femmes qui, à travers leur individualité, découvrent qu’elles partagent des points communs profonds, où la danse est l’expression de la beauté complexe de l’expérience humaine; tendresse et éclatements d'émotions s'entremêlent dans ce voyage bohème à travers les imaginations des interprètes.

La musique (Forever Is Just a Day de Hurray for the Riff Raff) a été décisive pour le ton de la pièce. Elle met en place une atmosphère calme, douce, presque spirituelle avec la voix a cappella qui s’élève et sillonne l’horizon acoustique.

Le bruit du train qui survient par moments dans la pièce est lui aussi porteur de signification : la liberté, le voyage, l’épanouissement. Le bruit d’un train à vapeur évoque des images romantiques, quelque peu mélancoliques, d’un temps passé, d’expériences vécues.

 

L’accomplissement réel de ce projet réside dans le ressenti du public face à notre danse. Si le public ressent ce que nous ressentons, ou se reconnaît dans un quelconque instant de la danse ; s’il arrive à extrapoler ses expériences sur ce que nous présentons sur scène, notre chorégraphie aura alors atteint son objectif.
